Posted on May 29, 2012 by Andrew Burgason

Here is some information about our latest Micro Lot. These are fresh from harvest and we will be sampling 3 different lots in the following months. The first is a El Bosque. Make sure to stop in a get yourself a bag. These wont be around for too long.

The Araya and Padilla families, who have been producing coffee for 3 generations, acquired Finca El Bosque in 1999. The farm is composed of 3 hectares and is located in San Juan North Corralillo, Cartago, San Jose, Costa Rica behind St. John the Baptist parish
church. Located between two streams of water, the farm also serves as a refuge for several species of flora and fauna of the region.
Shade trees provide organic matter to the soil and produce other crops such as bananas for family consumption. No pesticides or herbicides are used in order to maintain a natural balance with the environment. The families take great pride in the farm and will use the economic contribution of Finca El Bosque to pay for college for their children. Not only is the coffee produced with great effort
and dedication at the farm level but it is also processed and milled separately in the ASOPROAAA cooperative micro-mill. ASOPROAAA
